Carolyn Belko, Director, studied numerous times on monthly sabbaticals with Yoga Master B.K.S. Iyengar at his Institute in India. She was assessed by him and holds Senior Level III Certification.
Carolyn’s insight in practice and the art of teaching offers one steady guidance on the yoga path. Through her compassionate teaching, one experiences the artistry of sequencing, carrying one to new realms, all the while providing the practical living philosophy of yoga.
A leader in the community, Carolyn has been training teachers throughout the West since 1996 and serves as an assessor for IYNAUS.
She is the Mentor Teacher in the Two Year Teacher Training Program at the Center. One of the few to conduct Iyengar Yoga Therapeutic classes, she provides mentorship and training in this field of yoga, as well.
After a 5-year tenure at the Centre de Yoga Iyengar de Paris, France, she moved back to San Diego in 1995. Carolyn was a team player in directing the Iyengar Yoga Center of La Mesa, and opened the Iyengar Yoga Center of North County with Mr. Iyengar’s blessings in 2003. Through her efforts, one has accessibility to the art, science and philosophy of Yoga in a Center of learning all the while connecting one to a community.
