Cultivating Your Yoga Practice at Home

Practicing yoga at home was the focus in February’s workshop led by IYNC teachers Pat McLoughlin and Maria Reyes.

Mr. Iyengar tells us, “Change leads to disappointment if it is not sustained. Transformation is sustained change, and it is achieved through practice.”

The workshop helped guide practitioners to cultivate right habits, thoughts, words and actions that will lead them into doing a home yoga practice that is sustained and fruitful.

Studying yoga in India with Yoga Master B.K.S. Iyengar

Each time, I am newly amazed by Mr. Iyengar’s grandeur and greatness. Courage emanated from him. He gave us a grain of that courage to feed our yoga practice. My last class with him was a backbends class. It was a ladies class and there were about 110 ladies in the room. ..Read more…

Yoga Retreat in France : Experience Intensive, Authentic Yoga This Summer

Yoga students at Iyengar Yoga North County may have dreamed of participating in the Blacons, France week-long yoga retreat in July or August. Learning to prepare South Indian food is the focus of a cooking class led by Iyengar Yoga of North County student Sailaja Pasupuleti, a native of India. If you haven’t taken one of Sailaja’s classes yet, now is the time! The next class is Sunday, April 22nd at 2:00 p.m. at Sailaja’s Encinitas home, not far from Iyengar Yoga North County.
