Free Intro Yoga Class at Iyengar Yoga North County

Free yoga classA free intro yoga class is offered Saturday, August 4th in Encinitas from 1pm to 2pm. This class is appropriate for any level including beginners. Come to Iyengar Yoga North County, meet the teachers, see the studio and take part in a class.

The Free Intro will give you a chance to see the studio firsthand and get a feel for the Iyengar teaching method. Just dress comfortably and prepare to be barefoot –  all props and blankets are provided, including mats (free of charge.) Feel free to bring your own mat if you like. Come a few minutes early to sign in.

If you have been a student of yoga, the Iyengar method will help you deepen your practice and get more out of your poses. You will gain more knowledge about each pose from expertly trained teachers. The Iyengar method stresses safety in asanas, to give you the most benefit out of each pose without strain or stressing the body. Because of the emphasis on safety, Iyengar yoga is a good practice for those who have suffered physical injury, or those wishing to re-engage in a physical activity after a long period of inactivity.

Iyengar yoga is a teaching method that emphasizes alert practice, precise direction, alignment and depth in the study of the poses. It stems from BKS Iyengar, a living yoga master, now 93 years old and still practicing. Mr. Iyengar wrote the book on yoga, Light on Yoga, in the ’60s, which is still used as a primer for teachers and students.

The free intro class is offered the first Saturday of each month.  Regular classes are held for beginning to advanced students. A therapeutics class is available to students by appointment, as well as Restorative yoga on Friday evenings.

Iyengar Yoga North County is a small, locally-owned yoga studio with a full roster of daily classes. The yoga studio is located at 2210 Encinitas Blvd, Encinitas 92024 in Suite U. A little tucked away, but well worth finding. Come and join us for this free intro yoga class. Sign up here…
