Two new teachers have joined the staff at Iyengar Yoga North County: Deanna Cramer is teaching Kids and Teens classes and Heidi Paul is teaching the Tuesday evening Intro/Level 1 class.
Deanna is a teacher with over 15 years in the academic environment and has been practicing Iyengar yoga for almost a decade. Deanna is a graduate of the 3-year Iyengar Yoga Teacher Training Program. When asked how teaching children differs from working with adults, Cramer replies “Children love speed and variety. We practice and change from pose to pose more rapidly than with adults. Asana practice needs to be playful and give children challenges for their age.” Deanna’s classes have been ongoing at the Center since October.
Heidi Smith began taking yoga classes in the late 90’s, initially studying teacher training in Ashtanga yoga. She came to Iyengar yoga and met Carolyn about six years ago. Heidi recovered from a lower back injury through Carolyn’s guidance in Therapy Class. Heidi has been taking classes and participating in on-going teacher training at the Iyengar center ever since. Heidi began teaching at the Iyengar center in January.
