Swami_Vivekananda_1893_Scanned_ImageIf you search to find when Yoga first came to the U.S. most will agree that in 1893 the visit of Swami Vivekananda brought the message of Yoga to the West. A monk from India, he spoke throughout the country at a time when one?s voice carried the strength to reach hearts without the help of a mic.

Along with yoga, he instilled the ideas of the unity of humanity, how to reach truth in one?s life, Indian cultural ideas and Vedanta. Swami Vivekananda created a bridge form East to West and West to East, propagating the utmost spirituality of and to both sides . This year celebrates Vivekananda’s 150th birthday year.

We are blessed to welcome Swami Harinamananda, from the Vedanta Center of San Diego. He is a monk from the order founded by Swami Vivekananda, and will share his message as it pertains to yoga. He will be accessible for questions following the talk.

The talk will be held at Iyengar Yoga North County from 6pm-7:15pm on Wed Dec 4th. Download the PDF flyer here.
