The Iyengar Yoga Studio of North County San Diego Provides Expertise in the Process of Learning Yoga
Iyengar Yoga Center of North County San Diego is a yoga center and school in Encinitas that facilitates the process of learning yoga. Our clear, precise teaching empowers yoga students to gain confidence in their personal practice. Expert sequencing allows students to progress safely to more advanced yoga poses. The practice of pranayama, regulation of the breath, is taught with clear and safe instructions, guiding yoga students on a steady path toward yoga’s meditative states. Our teachers are experienced and committed to on-going training and learning.
The Center is located at 2210 Encinitas Blvd, Suite U, in Encinitas. It is one block west on Encinitas Boulevard from the intersection of Rancho Santa Fe Road, in the Rincon Plaza professional center. Our lovely garden setting is conducive to meditation and concentration during yoga classes.
As a center of learning, we respectfully build upon the body and mind’s ability to steadily and gradually progress from level to level. Ongoing Introductory yoga classes are offered multiple times each week. The first week of each month a free introductory class is available on the first Saturday at 1 p.m. We also offer specialty classes including kids yoga and teen yoga, therapeutics, prenatal/pregnancy support and restorative classes, as well as teacher training classes in the Iyengar method. We offer yoga retreats, intensives and weekend workshops that help deepen and expand one’s personal practice. Well-known Iyengar teachers such as Neeta Datta grace our Center twice each year to teach yoga workshops.
Iyengar Yoga is an innovative style of teaching, characterized by an alert practice, precise direction and careful alignment. Emphasis is placed on meditation in action in the practice of asana (poses), while incorporating the science of sequencing and timing. Principles of yoga philosophy are inextricably linked to the teachings, bringing the effects of your yoga practice accessible to your daily life.
