The studio walls will be rockin’ on Saturday night during the Yoga Fest, after a shared community dinner.
Iyengar Yoga Center of North County, Encinitas, celebrates its 10th anniversary Oct. 4 – 6th with joyful yoga festival 2013 celebrations that include yoga classes for all levels of practice for kids, teens and adults; traditional Indian dance performances; movies featuring IYNC’s renowned master, B.K.S. Iyengar, a legendary living yoga master; a dance party; yoga-themed arts and crafts; and a bazaar with select vendors, henna artists and refreshments.
Participate with a friend in all the classes and events for only $10. That’s right: you and a guest can enjoy the entire weekend for only $10. Kids are free. Bracelets for the event can be purchased at the Center, 2210 Encinitas Blvd., Ste. U, Encinitas or online in advance.
The yoga festival 2013 weekend kicks off Friday evening with a restorative yoga practice from 5:30-6:30 p.m. Then, it’s time for refreshments and, at 7 p.m., the film “Ultimate Freedom” will be shown. B.K.S. Iyengar demonstrates and describes the transformations that can occur with yoga practice.
Yoga festival 2013 celebrations continue Saturday, Oct. 6 with three classes. The first, for Level 2-3 practitioners is 9-10:30 a.m. followed by refreshments. Level 1 students are invited to class from 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m., again followed by refreshments. Complete beginners or students who have not previously experienced Iyengar Yoga can take an Introductory class from 1-2 p.m.
The Yoga Festival 2013’s Open House and Bazaar is from 2-4 p.m. with art and craft activities, a henna artist, select vendors and ongoing movies featuring Mr. Iyengar.
Looking for a great date night idea? On Saturday evening, a community shared dinner and dance starts at 5:00pm. RSVP if you’ll join the shared meal from 5-6:30 p.m at 760-632-0040. Then it’s time for dancing to your favorite music from 7-9 p.m.
